从导致矿区突水的因素和矿井突水空间方位两方面概述了典型矿区突水及防治方法;对中国煤矿区的水文地质特征等进行了分区描述;并以70年代中期为界描述了前后两大阶段煤炭系统水文地质勘探研究的现状和进展;在此基拙上，提出了煤炭系统今后开展水文地质研究时应重视和注意的一些问题。
This paper has described the outbrusts of water and the me}tures of the prevention and cure in some coal mines from both genesis and positions of outbrusts of water in coal mines, and also the characteristics of hydrogeological subdivision in China. The present situation乙advances of hydrogeological prospecting of coalfields and hydrogeology of some coal mines are given, respectively. Two stages before and after the middle of the 70} s are divided. On the basis of the above description，the author suggests that some problems should be paid attention to for the future.
