Abstract

The Scientific Assembly of International Association of Geodesy (IAG) was held in Cairns Australia, 22-26, August 2005. The title of the Assembly is “Dynamic Planet 2005”. The following topics presented in the Assembly have a deeply impression on me: the improvement of global and local terrestrial coordinate reference frames, the spatial and time resolution of the earth gravity field variation detected by gravity satellites, earth deformation, disaster and atmosphere monitoring by airborne LIDAR , Radar images and their interferometry techniques, the establishment of Global Geodetic Observation System (GGOS) in IAG, and the development in planetary geodesy study.
