Advances in Earth Science (monthly) was founded in 1986 and is jointly sponsored by the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Earth Sciences, National Natural Science Foundation of China. It is a comprehensive and academic journal.
Purpose of the Journal: The purpose and mission of Advances in Earth Science is to review the current status and progress of earth science and resource environment research; reveal the development trends in major interdisciplinary research fields; monitor the research dynamics in emerging, marginal, and cross-disciplinary fields; look forward to the development trends and priority areas of domestic and international research; reflect the application and development practices of new earth science technologies and methods; introduce international science and technology planning strategies, implementation layouts, and management mechanisms; report on the organization and implementation of national major research plans and fund projects, as well as innovative research results; and evaluate the innovation research competitiveness and influence of domestic and international research institutions.
