Abstract

Abstract:This paper introduces the review process for the scientific Fund of Geophysics and Space physics Discipline of the Earth Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2025. Overall, the discipline demonstrates steady growth, with the number of applications increasing by 107 compared to 2024. The applications for the Young Scientists Fund (Type A and Type B) saw an increase exceeding 20.0%. The distribution of applications across subfields remained similar to previous years: Solid Geophysics accounted for 31.32%, Geodesy and Applied Geophysics for 26.84% and 26.77% respectively, Space Physics for 11.55%, and Experimental and Instrumentation Physics for 3.52%. Applicants for general projects, Young Scientists Fund (Type C) projects, and Fund for Less Developed Regions were predominantly aged 31-40, constituting 61.63% of the total. In addition, 417 projects had been completed in 2024, achieving significant progress across multiple subfields.
