PROGRESS AND PROSPECT OF RESEARCHES ON BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION IN CHINA

In this paper the background of researches on biodiversity conservation at home and abroad are presented firstly. Then in the light of the obligations for researches of the Convention on Biological Diversity，the progress of biodiversity studies during the past decades especially the past 10 years in China on inventory，conserving technology，information system and biotechnology are mainly summarized. Furtherly，Eased on the international advance of biodiversity conservation，the fields needed to be enforced in present time and future for biodiversity conservation research in China are elucidated，including identification and mornitoring，technologies for biological resource sustainable use，data management and information network construction and biotechnology and biosafety.
