Mining Geothermics is a part of Applied Geothermics. The main objectives of Mining Geothermics have beem formulated to study the geothermal conditions of mining areas during exploitaion. This study had been started since early 1970's, when the hightemperature problem in mines in our country became severe. Much progress has been achieved，mainly they are:a) promoting the geotemerature survey during exploration for coal in china.  b) based on a number of data obtained，a classification system for
geotemperature field type of mine is suggested，which may be regarded as the theoretical fundament for geotemperature survey in mining areas and for the measure to be applied for lowering the high temperature condition in mines.  In the future the geothermal study in mining areas is faces with new tasks; a)to summarize the geotemperature survey data during exploration for coal in whole country and b) to strengthen the investigation on relationship between the geothermal conditions and techniques for the
lowering temperature in mines.
