THE NEW THINKING SCOPE OF THE ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY

Abstract

In face of the globalization of economy and the information era, great new changes have taken place to economic geography. Plus the testy of practice, economic geography has gradually developed from former “Location Theory”、"Distribution Theory” to Spatial Theory and information theory. And the changes of time and space have become much more profound than before. This subject is most comprehensive and has wide regional space and complicated connotation. The innovation of economic geography lies in that it combines the development of economy and society with people,resource,and ecologic environment in harmony and order efficiently, and sets up thrifty consumption system step by step in the development of econmy and society, which is fit for Chinese situation. The paper mainly analyzes the new research scope and trend of economic geography, and puts pinpoint on testing the former theories by scientific means, and using statistical methods to explain the relation of numbers, and utilizing the analytic method of GIS to verify the rationality of spatial layout.
