Resource researeh is an important synthetic practicing domain of that the modern geography shared with other related disciplines. In the last four decades, the inventory and appraisal of land resource, the analysis of regional resource system and the development and construction of resource information system have had a vast advance, and promoted the development and perfection of modern geography. This paper reviews the development and present state of resource research in geography. Finaly, several problems on the resource research in the future are further discussed.
