The intimate complexing of organic matter and minerals in soil is one of the fundamental feature that distinguishes soils from their geological parent materials. This paper reviews the research results on the models of soil organo-mineral complex, and its fertility characteristics at home and abroad over the years. The modern test techniques and computer techniques have been brought to research on soil organo-mineral complexes. The molecule structural models of humic colloids, soil organo-mineral complex and soil organic matter-xenobiotics complex have developed. The structure and function of soil organo-mineral complexes has renewably been understood and illuminated based on nanometer chemistry and three dimension molecule structural model. The organo-mineral complex is conditioner of soil structure, source and sink of plant nutrients, cultural medium of microbe, and filter of heavy metals or venomous organic pollutants. The importance of interaction of organic matter and mineral, and models of organo-mineral complex in soil science, environmental science and ecology is emphasized. The research on environment-chemical behavior and transport dynamics of soil organo-mineral complex will be increased.
