We introduced the optimization and adjustment plan of the application codes in the fields of geophysics and space physics for the deep reform of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in the new era. We analyzed the acceptances， reviews， submissions and grants of the projects of the discipline of Geophysics and Space Physics in 2020 and summarized the closeout status and achievement of funded programs at the end of 2019.
