①Climate change is a scientific issue concerning the global sustainable development. By analysing the different and common points of view regarding climate change, this paper concludes certainty from uncertainty and defines the scientificity of strategy addressing climate change (including mitigation and adaptation).② This paper explains the practical significance of strategy addressing climate changefor China’s development, such aspromoting the transformation of development patterns, improving various infrastructure constructions, driving the progress of fundamental research and technical innovation.③This paper also puts forward the strategic significance of tackling climate change for the country’s long-term development, which includes completely understanding and clearly expressing the third goal of the “three steps” strategy in China’s modernization and the strategic roadmap of realizing the goal. The resolute implementation of the strategy addressing climate change is not only beneficial to the improvement of living environment for nowaday’speople; it can also bring great benefit to the future generations.
