Modeling Exhumation Rates of Orogenic Belts with Low-temperature Thermochronological Data

When calculating the exhumation rates of orogenic belts, some factors should be considered including heat advection, topography, radiogenic heat production, etc. As a result, many methods have been developed in the recent two decades, including the age-elevation relationship, the Turcotte's, the Stüwe's, the Mancktelow's, the spectral analysis, the finite element analysis method, etc. When the geothermal field is in a steady state, age-elevation relationship is applicable to the consecutive sampling of vertical section. The methods of the Turcotte's, the Stüwe's, and the Mancktelow's are applicable to the 2-D periodic topography. The spectral analysis is applicable to the 2-D non-periodic topography. And the finite element analysis is applicable to the calculation of regional exhumation rates.
