Solanum rostratum is a prickly annual of the nightshade family and is considered noxious on farms and rangelands. It is a native North American species. It was found firstly in Liaoning province of China in 1981 and was found in arid region-Urumqi of Xinjiang in 2006. This paper previews advances on its description, distribution and habitat, compound and their roles, pollination ecology and potential fatalness invade to China. The paper analyzes the ecological significance appeared in arid region in China and proposed some scientific questions to resolve for the species.
