ZHANG Jia'en. DISASTER ECOLOGY—AN IMPORTANT STUDY FIELD OF ECOLOGY[J]. Advances in Earth Science, 2002, 17(3): 452-456.
The basic concepts and study fields of disaster ecology were discussed. The important objectives in disaster ecology were put forward. Actually, most disasters could be regarded as ecological phenomenon and processes, so they should be studied from the viewpoint of ecology, especially for the causes, types, temporal and spatial distribution, occurrence, development, effects, prediction, control and restoration of different kind of disasters. Meanwhile, studies on ecological mechanics and effects, key technologies to control and prevent disasters should be conducted around global eco-environmental problems.
