Man-nature relationship is a central problem of geographical study, and also a new growing point of intersection of current natural sciences and social sciences. There are five sources in modern ideas on man-nature relationship. This paper analyses the theory' s system of man-nature relationship and discusses the ideas of man-nature relationship: environmental determinism, possibilism, ecological, land-scapism, culturism, behaviorism, spatialism, sustainable development. The man-nature relationship characterizes as integrity, territoriality, hierarchy, complexity. Therefore, it is needed to synthesize the eight ideas of man-nature relationship. In order to construct contemporary theory of man-nature relationship, it also put forward the five principles in the study of man-nature relationship.

Abstract
