Effects of fire on wetland ecosystem is a hot research issue for fire ecology and wetland ecology globally. Fire plays an important role in wetland ecosystem, and thus recent studies about effects of fire on wetland ecosystem are reviewed in this paper. The variations of plant growth, soil physicochemical properties and nutrient cycle (e.g. C, N) after fire in wetland ecosystem are summarized. Problems about study emphasis and methods of fire in wetland ecosystem at present are pointed out, and we find out that the changes of functions and processes of wetland after fire are fairly important and need to be discussed in more detail. Finally, this paper puts forward prospect of domestic studies of fire in wetland ecosystem in combination with the characteristics of relative researches in other countries.
