Niu Dong,Li Zhenquan,Yu Guirui. Advances in Integrative Studies on Terrestrial Ecosystem and Global Change through Combining Various Observing Systems and Networks[J]. Advances in Earth Science, 2006, 21(11): 1199-1206.

Environmental regime resulted from global change has become a big challenge that is commonly concerned by international society including scientists and technicians. Combination of various observing systems, as an effective and complex method package, has been widely recognized and applied in expounding the interrelations of global changes and terrestrial ecosystems. The paper addressed the importance of combining various observing systems in global change studies and made a brief introduction to several influential systems or networks of global terrestrial ecosystem observation. On the basis above, the main contributions to global change studies and the development of Chinese networks and systems for global terrestrial ecosystem observation have been evaluated. On the necessary for development in science and technology and social economy of China, the paper tentatively proposed the prior research fields in terrestrial ecosystems through combining observation systems and networks.
