Porphyroblast inclusion trails are very useful in metamorphic geology or petrology and structural geology, which include orogenic models and their PTt paths, the relationship and history between metamorphism/deformation, shear sense and folding,porphyroblast growth rate, strain rate and strain, deformation degree and metamorphic grade, etc. The applications and problems of porphyroblast inclusion trails in some aspects mentioned above are discussed. Especially new idea and applications of fixism of synkinematic, no-rotation porphyroblasts are very important and necessary to study further more.Before every kind of application of inclusion trails, whether porphyroblasts rotate or not rotate must be firstly determined.
