The Concept of Sandy Debris Flow and Its Application in the Yanchang Formation Deep Water Sedimentation of the Ordos Basin

Sandy debris flow is a new sandy type and attracts more and more attention in recent years. Its relative theory is partial negation and improvement of deepwater sediments concepts like the "Bouma Sequence" and "turbidite fan". This paper describes the essence of the concept of sandy debris flow and existing problems, and points out that only by combining the features of continental sedimentary basins in China to improve the theory can the success rate of exploration be improved, thereby promoting the development of China's oil industry. This paper also used the concept of sandy debris flow. The sedimentation of Chang 6 is divided into sandy debris flow, classic turbidite and slump, the three kinds of sediment gravity flows and traction underflow in the deep water area of the lake center in Ordos Basin. Studies suggest that sandy debris flow most develops in the region, and its spatial distribution is mainly controlled by the deepwater slope breaks. Steep and gentle slope significantly have different distribution patterns; the former generally parallels to the slope break distribution, and the latter distribution is perpendicular to the slope break. Finally, the paper points out that because of the wide area of distribution, large thickness and good hydrocarbon accumulation conditions, sandy debris flow is one of the most advantageous and new exploration areas in the future in Ordos Basin.
