Chondrites widely occurred in the Devonian neritic Cruziana ichnofacies from the Liujing, Dushan and Wudang sections in South China. Colors of host strata, ichnofabrics and burrow size as well as taxonomy of Chondrites have been studied from 8 selected marine regions in South China. Our data indicated that only those small Chondrites (burrow size <1 mm) preserved in dark, dark grey limestones, mudstones and marls can be viewed as evidence of dysaerobic environments, and that large and strong Chondrites can be found in strata deposited in oxic facies.
