The Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) 323 was successfully carried out in the Bering Sea during July 6 to September 4, 2009. This expedition was aimed to drill in the Bering Sea for obtaining long time-scale sedimentary sequences, and studying the Pliocene-Pleistocene evolution of millennial to Milankovitch- scale climatic oscillations in the Bering Sea, the marginal sea connecting the Pacific and Arctic Oceans. After drilling and analyzing on the sea, a total of 5741m long core samples had been recovered from 7 sites of different geographic locations, getting the primary scientific results by using modern micropaleontologic and sedimentologic methods.
