Quite a number of significant research results are achieved in the fields of Solid Earth Sciences after more than 3 years of implementation of the first batch of innovative key projects, CAS, represented by research in Earth environment, paleotology and stratigraphy, geodynamics of QinghaiTibet Plateau, and continental geodynamics, [WTBX]etc[WTBZ]. These results raise research level of Chinese solid Earth sciences, create new research initiatives, and push forward CASprovincial scientific cooperation. It is believed that research of Solid Earth Sciences in CAS acquires stable and steady development at newer and higher elevation after the completion of these innovative key projects and the other extended projects.
