The tidal inlet is one of the important geomorphological types of tidal coast. From 80s of this century,many authors of China focus their attention on study of tidal inlet. The paper reviews the advances of the study, introduces the main representant achievements in scientific research on tidal inlet and makes some proposals on the new problems and programms which procedence over all others.
