The problems and current situation of the research of the relationship between soil moisture and climate change were summarized and analyzed in the paper. First, the problems and current situation in the numerical modeling of the relationship was depicted. Furthermore, the three kinds of equations related to soil water budget in different land-surface model were compared each other, then we pointed out their advantages and disadvantages respectively. Also the three formula of calculating evapotranspiration was discussed in detail. Secondly, the works, which is less than the numerical modeling and related to the analyses of the data of soil moisture and climate change, were summed up. Finally, some problems, which are urgently need to study, were pointed out.
