With the continued introduction of the high-technique to petroleum exploration and development, researches on reservoir geology have to be changed from qualitative reasoning previously to quantitative mechanic study presently. In order to reveal different agents on the oil-pools and to recover formation, evolution or disappearance as well as fluid distribution in the oil-pools, the authors present a new concept about oil-pool forming dynamics. The oil-pool forming dynamics studies the oil-pool from all of available in formation including geology, geophysics, geochemistry and production tests; investigates detailed features of structure, reservoir, cap bed and fluid to establish the oil-pool geological model; then recovers the structural styles and stress fields in the oil-pool forming times, the developing history of storage space in the reservoir, the evolution history of percolation nature of the reservoir and the migration and accumulation history of hydrocarbon in study area. Physical simulation and mathematical simulation are recommended to approach the affections on the oil-pool formation and to formulate the mechanisms and models of oil-pool evolution for purpose of providing a method of oil-pool geological research and estimation for petroleum exploration and development.
