The Outstanding Young Scientist Fund Project will be renamed as the Youth Science Fund Project (Category A).

Youth Science Fund Project (Category A) supports young scholars who have achieved outstanding results in basic research. It aims to strengthen the refinement of scientific questions and allow for the autonomous selection of research directions to conduct innovative research. This category is oriented towards the frontiers of global science and major national needs. Its goal is to promote the growth of young scientific and technological talents, attract overseas talents, and cultivate a group of outstanding academic leaders who can enter the forefront of global science and technology.
Youth Science Fund Project (Category B) supports young scholars who have achieved good results in basic research. It aims to strengthen the refinement of scientific questions and allow for the autonomous selection of research directions to conduct innovative research. This category is oriented towards the frontiers of global science and major national needs. Its goal is to accelerate the rapid growth of young scientific and technological talents and cultivate a group of outstanding academic backbones who have the potential to enter the forefront of global science and technology.
Youth Science Fund Project (Category C) supports young scientific and technological personnel in independently selecting research topics within the scope of the National Natural Science Fund to conduct basic research. This category places special emphasis on cultivating the ability of young scientific and technological personnel to independently lead scientific research projects and conduct innovative research. It aims to inspire the innovative thinking of young scientific and technological personnel and nurture the next generation of basic research talents.
