In this paper, research advance in restoration ecology was analysed, especially in reasons and ecological progress of ecosystem degradation, and the mechanics, approach and technology of restoration and reconstruction for degradation ecosystem in China. Based on analysing problems of restoration ecology research and restoration practices for degration ecosystems in China, it suggested five proposals to promote restoration ecology research in China.
