LAI Xi-an,XU Ju-sheng,WANG Qing-ting,ZHANG Guo-an. PROGRESS IN THE STUDY OF PLATE MOVEMENT BY USING SPACE GEODESY [J]. Advances in Earth Science, 2002, 17(4): 576-581.

The research results and the latest progresses in measurement of plate movement by space geodesy and the comparison with the results by geological method are expounded. It is shown that the measurement of plate movement by space geodesy has developed from by single kind of technique to by the synthesis of multiple techniques. The latest research is carried out by means of the results of Earth reference frame,e.g.ITRF96,ITRF97, to build new models of plate movement. These models and the models built by geological method in the same period agree with each other very well as a whole while for some plates there are considerable differences.Among them, for the Pacific plate all of the moving rates measured by geodetic method are larger than that in the geological models, and the longitude of the polar position has some systematic deviation.
