ZHAO Pengda,CHEN Jianping. SYSTEM OF NONTRADITIONAL MINERAL RESOURCES AND ITS KEY PROBLEM[J]. Advances in Earth Science, 2000, 15(3): 251-255.

The authors expatiated, at first, discovery and exploitation of nontraditional mineral resources, which is significantly important in 21st century. Then, introduced the research actuality of nontraditional mineral resources all over the world. Nontraditional mineral resources refer to potential resources which are unconsidered and unutilized under actual technical, economic and environmental conditions, or which are too difficult to be found because of geological complexity. Nontraditional
resources usually need nontraditional research and mining methods and nontraditional mineral economics. The system of nontraditional mineral resources is essentially established, which includes nontraditional mineral resources, research methods, mining and mining economics. There are some significant problems concerning discovery and exploration of nontraditional mineral resources:①Mechanism of geological anomaly formation, evolution and controlled mineralization during Earth evolution and interactive processes of earthspheres;②Diversity of mineralization and the discovery of new types of ore deposit;③Earth material flow theory and the model of its further utilization.
