WANG Huabin,LI Jiangfeng,WU Shuren. PROGRESS IN NONLINEAR STUDY ON LANDSLIDE HAZARD SYSTEM[J]. Advances in Earth Science, 2000, 15(3): 271-276.

Slope is an unbalanced, self-organized, self-similiar, random, nonlinear system. Its development and evolution result from the exchange of materials, energy and information. Based on the analysis of self-organization behavoir of landslide hazard system, this paper completely introduces the state of art in application of fractal theory, synergetic theory, chaos dynamics, catastrophe theory and artificial neural networks. The major problems are evaluated in the research of different theories and methods. In addition, the areas and trends are presented for future studies in landslide nonlinear application.
