ZHU Zhi-min, YAN Jian-fei, SHEN Bing, ZHOU Jia-yun. Co-existing Formation of Multi-energy Resources in the Fuxin Basin: Analysis from Tectonic-thermal Events[J]. Advances in Earth Science, 2007, 22(5): 468-489.

To prospect for the energy resources in the Fuxin basin, the distribution and formation of energy resources including coal, coalbed methane, oil, tight gas sand and geothermal resources were studied. Vertically, the coal and coalbed methane mainly distribute in up layer of stratum; oil and tight gas sand mainly distribute in middle layer of stratum; geothermal resources mainly distribute in substratum. Laterally, oil mainly distributes in the center of the basin; tight gas sand and geothermal resources distribute in Dongliang tectonic zone; coal distribute in all parts of the basin but the available coal seams and coal bed methane mainly distribute in the center of the basin. Though analyzing the relationship between these resources and tectonic evolution, it shows that The tectonic evolution controls the formation of the energy resources and the coal is the most important source of hydrocarbon. Therefore, these resources accumulate in a sequence of coal→oil→tight gas sand→coal bed methane→geothermal resources. In sum, The Dongliang, Qinghemen-Aiyou and Wangying-Liujia tectonic zone are favorable for joint exploration of the multi-energy resources.
