Metallic mineral geological research, exploration and development used to be, and is still maintaining strong and prosperous momentum in Australia, which is a rather ideal referenced example for China. This paper describes major institutions, strategic plans, research centers, new technologies related with Australia's metallic mineral resources. The author also proposes its significance and revelation to China's mineral resources facing new challenges of metal exploration on a thousand-meter scale at depth.
