The increase speed has been quickened since 2001 by the rate of 13.68%. The Earth science researchers have taken the National Natural Science Foundation as the most important fund channel of scientific research. (b) The average fund intensity of the Earth science general projects is enhanced from 48 400 Chinese Yuan to 300 300 Chinese Yuan per project by the increasing rate of 14.15% per year. (c) The rate of the funded project is in the level of 21.92% of all the request projects. In the last five years(2000-2004), this rate has increased to 23.64%.
