Salified-lake sediments are widely distributed with Cenozoic strata in China. The geographic backgrounds, climates and hydrochemical terms of these salified-lake basins are different from those of both freshwater lake basins and marine basins. These salified lake have special geochemical characteristics and hydrocarbon generation characteristics. This paper generalizes some research development about deposition, aggregation, preservation, distribution and hydrocarbon generation characteristics of organic matter in Cenozoic salified lake in China. We also introduce the geochemistry characteristics of salified-lake source and rude oil in China in this paper.
