Geophysics should be fully developed not only because the role it plays in recognizing the Earth but also the requirement of national benefits.After review of development of geophysics in our country,It discussed the trend of discipline,key scientific problem and the observation tool of geophysics especial the solid geophysics.The role which the geophysics played in the earth sciences are analyzed,itshould be serve forbasic research aswell as national economic development and policy decision.The forms of the center for solid earth sciences are proposed.
